About Me

Hi there! I can't wait to tell you what God has done in my life.

Originally from Delaware, I earned a degree in theology and religious studies with a minor in philosophy from the Catholic University of America in 2016. A few months after graduation, I entered formation to become a religious sister with the Daughters of St. Paul, the #MediaNuns. During my formation, I grew in my understanding of my identity as a beloved daughter of God and gained practical skills in evangelization and modern communications.

In February of 2020, I discerned that God was asking me to leave religious life and I returned home to Delaware, where I worked in parish ministry for two years.  I now work in Catholic communications in Northwest Indiana.

During this time, my focus has been on responding to God's loving invitation to take on the work of healing past wounds that continue to impact my life. On social media especially, I have made a strong effort to bring to light what it is like to be a Catholic who suffers from serious mental illness.

My work has appeared in OSV News, Busted Halo, and Radiant Magazine. My first book, Jesus in Space, was published by Pauline Books & Media in March 2023.

Here in Northwest Indiana, you can find me reading absurd amounts of mystery novels, working on my next book in the public library, or driving around in my pick-up truck with my beagle, Rocco.

You can listen to the podcast below to hear the story of my discernment out of religious life. My story begins at the 12  minute mark.

Jesus in Space

Tom Jones was one of three Catholic crew members on NASA mission STS-59 who received permission to bring the Blessed Sacrament with them on their 1994 expedition. In this one-of-a-kind children’s book for ages 4-8, author Cecilia Cicone and artist Gabhor Utomo narrate the adventures of Astronaut Tom and his companions, and how the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist accompanied them on their mission.

The Alphabet Series

I am reading through Sue Grafton’s “Alphabet Series,” my Granny’s favorite books, in an effort to grow closer to her.

This is going to be a long-term project, but I hope you'll join me. You can sign up for updates by subscribing to my substack.
